I was going through my hard disk again and noticed I have previously downloaded a script courtesy of Keith Purkiss. It was sitting in that folder for quite a while as I was still new to this backlink thingy so I was not sure what to do with it then.

Yesterday another email come through from another IMer which reminded me that I should take a look at it.

I have been wondering how some people seem to get swarms of traffic to their sites for free? It is common knowledge now that it’s all about ranking high on search engines such as Google and that in turn depends on getting backlinks.

Yeah, right but how is the ordinary person supposed to understand all this. One way would be that someone would simplify all this for you so that you just have a to click a few buttons? Well this script that Keith Purkiss provide does just that.

Following the instruction provided with the script I uploaded everything to my server and then run the script accordingly. It will prompt you to enter your domain name and then it present you with a list of URLs that when click on it will open another window to create the static link for you.

I understand that there are two upraded versions available but I didn’t check them out. 

I have clicked through all the links generated by this script and noticed that not all link works. Specifically the following links will need some update and you may get the same results as mine below:

webarchive.org – display “sorry no matches”
buildwith.com – display “issue with request”
sideadvisor.com – the page is not longer working
www.whois.co – the link not working anymore
www.zimbio.com – no result is found on my blog using my domain. However 1 result was return if I add www to the front of the domain name.
whois – pickup my old blog theme, well at least it work
whoisx.co.uk – also pickup my old blog theme
statbrain.com – show you your current position on the loading page but never return the actual results
www.urltrends.com – the domain name shown is wrong because it was hardcorded. You can edit it in the linklist.txt file

I’ll look into these links again when I completed the testing of this script.
