Recently I started with article marketing and I have chosen EzineArticles.com as my first platform to submit articles. This is part of my action plan for my blogging for profit venture after I revived my blog recently.
The first two articles were submitted without any problem so I thought this is good. The third article has some issue and I got an email from the reviewer but it doesn’t mention what was the issue. I responded to them accordingly but then I did not receive any feedback from them so I thought I’ll wait for them to reply before I make any changes.
In the meantime I wrote the 4th article and submitted it for review. It didn’t occurred to me that putting in a squeeze page into the resource box will be consider a form or marketing. Anyway the squeeze page I put into the resource box is actually a free eBook on how to start your first blog. However the reviewer doesn’t see it that way and considered it as not relevant. Given that squeeze page is a single page that is simple and straight to the point, it cannot be use in your resource box.
This are the guideline that was invoked by the reviewer on my resource box.
Issue 1 (Section 2.f xv)
http://EzineArticles.com/editorial-guidelines.html#2-f-xv
Websites must be active and have content in order for you to link to them from your article. Please edit the included URL(s) so that they lead to an active and informative website.
Issue 2
Your article has been placed in problem status for linking to a page consisting primarily of advertising and/or your landing page does not contain enough informative content. In order to ensure a quality user experience, we can only accept links which direct to pages which are content-rich beyond advertising and products for sale. Please edit your article to link directly to the content-rich pages on your site, or edit the link to add additional informative content and resubmit for review.
I didn’t get the email informing me about this “violation” until two days later. The reason being my PC crashed so I had to go out and find the replacement parts. By the time I got back online my account was already suspended. Apparently the standard practice is that if the article submitter didn’t response within 48 hours, they will be put into a suspended state.
Well this is really something new to me so I have learned my lesson.
If you are new to article marketing, be careful what you put in the resource box. I have been reading on many eBooks on article marketing and none of them mentioned this. Check their guidelines if you are in in doubt
I have written to Ezine Article problem resolution center and asking for my account to be reactivated and that I have made the necessary changes to my resource box.
Hopefully I will be able to submit more articles soon.
EzineArticle.com is considered the best article directory going by Google. One of the reasons is that they are very stringent in their TOS and every article is manually read by someone on their team. They do not allow “guru garbage” or redundant articles. Just read their rulings, adhere to them and you will be fine. You should probably use a link to this blog, instead of a squeeze page, in your resource box. That is if and only if, this blog is relevant to your articles.
If this blog IS relevant to your articles, then you could add a sign up form here with which to give away your free e-book in exchange for their email information. This could work better for you than a squeeze page.
1. It would accomplish building your list.
2. It would bring more traffic to this blog.
3. You may also get some subscribers to your RSS feed.
There are thousands of other article directories that you could also submit to that are not as stringent as EzineArticles. Do a Google search to find them.
My only suggestion is that when you submit to the other article directories, change the article title, and rewrite the article to the tune of 40%, just to have it appear as a different article than the one that you submitted to EzineArticles.
Best of luck!

June,
Thanks for the comments.
I did the last part as you mentioned but then I have chosen the wrong PLR article. Despite my rewrite the EzineArticles reviewer did a search and found another blog that posted the same title. They suspended me for that even though the blog that posted it is a site that has nothing that do with the title of the article. They just posted the PLR article on their site.
Anyway, EzineArticles also quoted the following guideline.
> We do not accept PLR or re-written PLR articles as stated in section 1.b of our editorial guidelines:
>

Just thought I share it here for everyone.
After my careful explanation to them, they reactivate my account.
I do have a squeeze page on my blog but the one I posted is just a pure squeeze page. Anyway I finally understood what’s the main problem for them to reject my article.
Cheers
